The online exhibition 'Erosion', prepared by artists Nikola Brabcová and Karin Šrubařová, is conceived as a web platform, leading to the visibility of the problem of soil erosion and its possible solutions. At the same time, it seeks to transcend the imaginary dichotomy of man and nature, and to draw light on the growing initiative of artists who comment on soil health issues and other related topics. The predominant product-oriented agriculture, long-term use of agrarian chemistry, heavy machinery and poor land management, prone to erosion and further degradation, are all causing irreversible changes in the landscape. Although experts, scientists, activists and artists call for a systemic turn to a more frugal type of management, state officials and the general public remain indifferent to these challenges.

What is the role of nature? Some say that nature has always been there. Others say that it was not discovered but gradually invented. This perspective implies that there is no one nature in thinking about nature, but a variety of contested natures that arise through more-than-human coexistence. Any understanding of what nature means thus necessarily involves an understanding of the society in which (or by which) it is shaped. The Unprotected Nature project seeks ways in which we can consciously participate in processes of understanding beyond established ideas.

The chapter The Practice of Decolonization, prepared by Jiří Žák and Matěj Pavlík, focuses on the historical, political and cultural issues of decolonization discourse in Norway and the Czech Republic. The issue of decolonization has become an increasingly dominant theme across Europe in the last few decades. The debate about it is taking place in the two countries with different intensity and expectations, which is also due to the specific historical experience of the two countries.

The project Regeneration includes cooperation with the community of the former mining colony Bedřiška in Ostrava, which has long been classified as a so-called socially excluded locality but does not even remotely meet this characteristic. Artist Janek Rous has long been working with the inhabitants of Bedřiška, and together they have invited several authors from the fields of contemporary art, architecture and music to collaborate with the local community on several smaller activities aimed at architectural and performative interventions in public space. The results of the collaboration are a documentary radio composition, architectural intervention and an original publication - Cook book of Bedřiška. This complements the three main chapters with another example of civic, community, environmental and decolonizing activity that also has a practical and localized character and appeal.
