Denisa Langrová, feral mummy

they love me, I can't help but love magpies, They make fun of me, splash water on my face, I contemplate about otherness, I give them my heart, I give them chicken hearts, when I slice them, I want to fly, I can't resist, and sometimes I stroke one even though we're forbidden, they hate me

Denisa Langrová, feral mummy

how is it possible that I didn't notice them, now during the whistling of swifts, I can't concentrate, their song was once considered the wailing of the souls of dead people flying off to hell, they stayed longer due to the warming, but now they're gone and I miss them a bit, as the summer prolongs, it's said that kingfishers might eventually stop migrating

raven mothers have it tough, I replace their mothers, I fall asleep and I hear them roar that they're hungry, the ravens' roar deafens me, I fall asleep and I hear the flapping of wings, it's about lives, chicks jump out of nests because it's too hot for them, they keep bringing us more, during the season, we can't keep up with feeding

Denisa Langrová (*1996) is a graduate of the bachelor’s program at UMPRUM in the Sculpture Studio of Edith Jeřábková and Dominik Lang and concurrently a student in the master’s Studio of Fine Arts III under Dominik Gajarský and Michal Pěchouček at UMPRUM. The concepts of her projects are rooted in ecofeminist theories, environmental studies, interspecies and non-binary foundations. She is interested in intersections of human and non-human animal stories, the concept of domestication and its potential connection with love and personal experiences of humanity in the midst of global crisis and capitalism.
