Hana Šantrůčková
Prof. Hana Šantrůčková lectures on soil ecology, biogeochemical cycles, and ecological applications of stable isotopes at the Department of Ecosystem Biology, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia. She graduated from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and received research training at the Institute of Microbiology in Prague. Her research interests expanded to include carbon and nutrient transformation and cycles and their interconnections in various soils of terrestrial ecosystems. She pioneered the field of “ecosystem biology” and established a platform for soil biology development, which remains under her guidance to this day. Additionally, she co-founded the Czech Society for Ecology and co-authored a book on mountain spruce forests in Šumava, South Bohemia (Co vyprávějí šumavské smrčiny).
